Wood County Courthouse Security
The Court Security Department at the Wood County Court of Common Pleas consists of full-time and part-time constables under the direction of the Chief Court Constable. Along with the Chief, the department supervisory staff includes one Lead Court Constable. The department works under the authority of the four Wood County Common Pleas Court Judges and under the direct supervision of the Court Security Judge.
The responsibilities and duties of the Court Security Department are to ensure the safety and security of the Judges, staff, and citizens in all of the courtrooms and adjacent offices, Domestic Relations area, and the Adult Probation Department.
All constables have law enforcement training and experience and they are required to complete annual continuing education and qualifications for firearms, TASER, and other relevant areas.
